AIRFRAMES

Six machines, and you can fly any of them on your first flight.

A preset here is a whole airframe rather than a difficulty setting: its own mass, thrust-to-weight, drag, pack life and link range, so an 80-gram whoop and a 1.6-kilo 10-inch genuinely fly like different aircraft. None of them is an unlock, a reward or a purchase. Pick one in /setup, or change it mid-flight from the Terminal.

No top-speed column, deliberately. The figure the flight model implies is a dive number — it assumes every newton of thrust points forwards, when a real quad spends most of it holding altitude — so publishing it would mean publishing a speed you cannot reach in level flight. Thrust-to-weight and weight are the two that actually predict how a machine feels.

Which one to fly

Gentle and forgiving, on a short leash

AUTO-LAND

Where you start if you have never flown FPV. It is deliberately slower to respond and deliberately hard to lose: the link only reaches 200 m, and when the battery runs out it lands itself rather than falling out of the sky. Nothing about it is locked or earned — it is a setting, and you can leave it on your first flight or come back to it on your hundredth.

Whoop (80mm)

Ducted micro that carries a camera

AUTO-LAND

Eighty grams all-up, which is the whole character: at a fraction of a 5-inch's mass the same air resistance stops it roughly twenty times harder, so it parks the instant you let off instead of coasting. Ducts bounce off things, so it survives contact that would end another run. Short legs — six and a half minutes and an indoor-length link — because that is honestly what these are.

Freestyle

The 5-inch quad feel

RETURN TO HOME

The default shape of the sport and the one most pilots picture when they say FPV. Five to one thrust-to-weight under 650 g means it climbs out of anything, and it holds speed through a line rather than braking itself. This is the airframe the flow chain was tuned against: dives, gaps, and staying close to things at speed.

Long Range

Heavy cruiser with reach

RETURN TO HOME

Fifteen minutes of pack and a link that holds out to a kilometre and a half, which is enough to cross the city or run a mountain ridge and still come home. It is heavier and less eager than the 5-inch by design — a cruiser trades snap for the ability to keep going.

10-inch

Enormous punch and braking, slow to change direction

MASS
1.6 KG

RETURN TO HOME

Not a long-range quad with different numbers — a different machine. Ten-inch props are flywheels: the airframe does not refuse to rotate, it refuses to change what it is already doing, so you commit to an input a beat before you want the result and stop it a beat before you want it to stop. In exchange it has vertical punch, real braking authority, and twenty-six minutes of endurance.

Cinematic (Dual-Op)

Steady, smooth, and it seats two

RETURN TO HOME

The camera platform: heavier and damped so the horizon stops moving, with a belly gimbal underneath. Its distinguishing feature is that a second pilot can join it — press O in flight to invite a camera operator, so one person flies the line and the other frames the shot, which is how this is actually done on a real set.

All six, free, from the first flight

There is no unlock path, no currency and nothing to buy. Progression here records what you have flown; it has never gated what you may fly, and the rule that says so is enforced in code rather than promised in a FAQ.
